Not all wineries offer ‘behind-the-scenes’ tours. Glass O’ Wine Tours is familiar with those that do offer this experience.
To note: Indoor tours of the barrel rooms and wine processing areas are not open to the public during the harvest season (September to October is typically the harvest period for Niagara wineries), however, there are some wineries that have viewing areas of their production facility when havest is active.

In general, most wineries are family friendly.
Glass O’ Wine Tours will select venues that embrace family time and to ensure you are comfortable in the setting. To enjoy a day-trip to wineries with your kiddies, I highly recommend visiting wineries that offer some form of catering to help keep entertained.
The bonus of touring with your kiddies is not having to rush back to relieve the babysitter!
Glass O’ Wine Tours offers K9-Tours https://glassowinetours.com/product/pet-tours/ so you can spend an afternoon sipping on award winning wines and have your companion by your side instead of waiting for you to return home.
We respect the dog friendly policy at each venue; leashed dogs are allowed in the outdoor seating areas at many wineries, but may not always be allowed in buildings. There are a selected few that allow pets to join you indoors, just ask Amanda.
If you want to experience a backstage tour, Amanda is standing by to walk your dog whilst you enjoy your guided tour and retail shopping.
Cheers to the dog friendly wineries in Ontario!
Winery operating times differ; few open at 10:00am, most open at 11:00am and close by 5:00pm. Operating hours change during different seasons. Most wineries stay open later during the summer season (6:00, some even 7:00pm)
Breweries normally open by noon and remain open till approx. 9pm, sometimes 10:00pm.
My knowledge of wine and the wine tourism industry is forever growing. I highly recommend your wine related questions are best answered by certified Sommeliers and Wine Consultants at the wineries we visit, they are the experts!

Spring and fall are your best options for milder, yet enjoyable temperatures. There are also more outdoor activities going on than during the winter. Spring and Summertime is when wineries have larger gatherings of people and wait times are longer for ‘walk-in’ traffic. Reservations are advisable!
Harvest starts mid–September and wineries are at their busiest. This is the best time to witness agricultural activities during a vineyard tour. Backstage tours in the production areas are usually out of bounds due to machinery in operation, however, some venues have safe zone areas for viewing.
Autumn is a personal favorite time of mine to plan a tour. The color palette of the escarpment backdrop is magical as the colors of Autumn take over the landscapes and vineyards!
The icewine harvest season is typically mid-January and only proceed if the grapes are completely frozen. Most growers harvest frozen grapes by hand and often during the nighttime to guarantee low temperatures, when temperatures have fallen to roughly twelve degrees Fahrenheit for a day or more.
